Restaurant in a former farm
Assignment
Too Good To Go
Location: Old farm, Esscheweg Boxtel
Description: You will be assigned the assignment to create the design for the first Too Good To Go restaurant in Boxtel. The restaurant is located in an old farmhouse that is being completely renovated. You are responsible for the layout, atmosphere and style of the restaurant, taking into account Too Good To Go’s brand identity. The restaurant is known for using local fresh produce that would otherwise not be sold. The client is looking for an original and creative design that fits their sustainable and environmentally friendly vision.
The floor plan of the restaurant is fixed, but you have the freedom to adjust the facade views. The design should radiate a warm and inviting atmosphere in which people can enjoy delicious food and drinks. It must match Too Good To Go’s sustainable and environmentally friendly vision. Be creative and make sure that the design appeals to people and makes them curious about the concept of Too Good To Go.
As an extra challenge, you can design a (covered) terrace (terrace with at least 25 seats).
Package of Requirements:
- Hall at least 10m2
- Wardrobe 5m2
- Kitchen of at least 15m2
- Bar
- 3 toilets
Concept
In the design you mainly see the color pink and green. Pink radiates caring, which is very appropriate for the warm and inviting appearance that the restaurant should have. I chose green because you see that color most often in nature, which radiates sustainability.
In addition to the sustainable appearance, sustainable materials have also been used. On the floor you will see Thermal Bamboo
Thermal bamboo is officially not wood. It does have excellent hard woody properties. Bamboo grows up to a meter per day, making it the fastest growing plant in the world. The bamboo plant simply grows back after harvest. That is why we can consider bamboo as an inexhaustible raw material.
With the green chair upholstery you see Organic Linen. Linen is a natural product that is completely degradable and recyclable and feels pleasant to the touch. Organic linen, unlike conventional linen, is grown without the use of pesticides, fertilizers and genetically modified seeds.
The pink seat upholstery is made of wool. It is a very soft and light fabric, but at the same time very strong. This makes wool a sustainable fabric. In addition to the fact that wool is a high-quality fabric, it also gives furniture a warm and attractive appearance.
Due to the different seating areas, 55+ people can sit inside and 30+ people can sit outside on the terrace.
